The Artist’s Style
Buensuceso’s style and technique is unlike anyone else’s. He foregoes canvas, the standard site of every painter’s expression. Instead, his artwork is done on buffed aluminum metal. The components are produced through the expert use of welding machine and rod and the poetic factor lies in his artwork’s indefinite reflections that is achieved through the natural dents from the burning process. Buensuceso represents the breed of new artists who are willing to explore beyond the confines of the canvas.
Background & Training
Buensuceso was born in Samal, Bataan in the Philippines in March 1982. He graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, major in Visual Communication in 2003. The young artist has proven himself very promising with his engagements with international design companies. He is currently based in Singapore with his wife Mutya and baby Mayumi.
